Welcome! This guide is intended to assist you with the your explorations of Shakespeare's plays. Since your course is an introduction to Shakespeare’s plays and will require reading and writing about (and possibly performing!) his works while taking into account their historical/cultural context and contemporary performance and interpretation, this guide includes resources that cover a wide range of Shakespeare related topics including theatre, history, and literature. The resources range from reference materials (dictionaries, encyclopedias, and bibliographies), periodicals (print and electronic), videos, ebooks, web sites, and online databases. I have also included a selection of research and writing guides, instructions for using the library catalogue and periodical indexes, and video tutorials.
